Trey Kerby reacts to LaMelo Ball securing first rank in the initial All-Star voting
On Thursday, NBA Communications' X handle released the results of the first fan returns of the All-Star voting to its 158.7K followers. LaMelo Ball stunned the community as he led the guard rankings in the Eastern Conference with a staggering 947,444 votes.
The Charlotte Hornets star surpassed Luka Doncic and Stephen Curry in the voting tally as they finished in second and third place with 870,071 and 810,357 votes respectively. TV personality Trey Kerby expressed his thoughts on the news in the "No Dunks" podcast.
"He’s basically playing all star basketball regardless of the circumstances. He’s playing like it’s an all star game even though the games count," he said.
Kirby also insisted that Ball's flashy playstyle is the reason behind his massive number of votes and that the media personnel would be more perceptive and choose other guards over him.
LaMelo Ball is averaging 30.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game this season. However, the Hornets are having one of the worst seasons in their recent history. They have a terrible 7-26 record and are 14th in the Eastern Conference standings.
