On Sunday, things got heated between the Miami Heat's Tyler Herro and Houston Rockets' Amen Thompson. With 35 seconds left in the game, things got physical after Herro bumped into Thompson, who grabbed the Heat star's jersey. While the Rockets forward held Miami's guard by the jersey, the two briefly conversed.

Things escalated when Thompson threw the 6-foot-4 guard to the ground. Players and coaches from both teams tried to stop the two players from further hurting themselves. However, Terry Rozier III jumped onto the Rockets forward to defend his teammate.

In the end, six people were ejected from the game. For the Rockets, it was Thompson, Jalen Green, coach Ime Udoka and assistant coach Ben Sullivan. Miami's Herro and Rozier were sent to the locker room for their involvement.

A YouTube channel, "LegendZ Productions," posted a clip of the fight between Thompson and Herro. The channel looked more closely and analyzed the conversations that occurred during the altercation. The words spoken by the players happened after the Heat star got up from the ground.

"What n***a?" Thompson challenged Herro. "What b***h? I'm gonna f**k you up, boy."

Herro was laughing and grinning at Thompson across the floor.

"Yeah," Herro said. "Take your a** home. You go home, bro. You lost."

The Rockets' Tari Eason, who was on the bench due to being listed as out because of left lower leg injury management, talked trash to Herro.

"P***y a** n***a," Eason chimed in from the bench.

The NBA has not released a statement on whether they'll punish the players and coaches involved.

In recent times, fights have become more frequent in the league. On Friday, Phoenix Suns' Jusuf Nurkic and Dallas Mavericks' Naji Marshall threw punches at each other. Following the fight, the NBA punished both players with suspensions (three games for Nurkic and four for Marshall).

PJ Washington Jr., who pushed the Suns center to the ground, received a one-game suspension.

Former Rockets player had high praise for Amen Thompson

The NBA hasn't announced punishments for Amen Thompson and Tyler Herro. They will probably be suspended, though, given the way they fought each other.

Thompson's actions, however, received praise from former Rockets player Vernon Maxwell. The two-time champion even offered to pay, on X, for the youngster's fine.

"I love me some Amen Thompson. Put his fine on my tab Rockets. And I’ll take care of anyone else’s fine that stands up for their Rockets teammates," Maxwell posted.

Whether the former player would pay for the fine Thompson received for getting ejected is not known. But a fine will be imposed as, in the league, an ejection is an automatic ticket to a fine.
