Despite being one of the more elite talents in NBA history, Kevin Durant has always dealt with his fair share of criticism. Recently, the former MVP got into it with fans on social media regarding the biggest narrative that has hung over his head.

Early in his career, the biggest knock on KD was that he didn't have any championships. That all changed in 2016 when he joined the Golden State Warriors in free agency. Durant went on to win a pair of titles and Finals MVPs in his time there, but fans still criticized him for how he won his championships.

In his latest social media exchange, fans accused Kevin Durant of not being a good leader and his attitude rubbing off on Devin Booker. When told he can't get it done on his own, the All-Star forward made it clear that he plays a team sport, not an individual one.

"We play team sports. I’m not a tennis player." Durant wrote.

Durant is still putting up superstar-level numbers, averaging 27.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists. However, the Suns overall have seen their fair share of struggles. Following a strong start to the season, they now sit in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 20-20 record.

Kevin Durant reflects on his toughest playoff battle

Aside from his legendary career on the court, Kevin Durant is most known for his activity online. When he isn't getting into it with critics, he occasionally provides wholesome answers to questions.

Earlier this week, a fan asked Durant what he feels was the toughest playoff series he came out on the winning side of. KD ended up taking it all the way back to his time with the OKC Thunder, citing a conference finals matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.

Kevin Durant dazzled in that series against the Tim Duncan-led Spurs. Across the six games, he averaged 29.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. The aforementioned Game 6 would be his best performance of the series, erupting for 34 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in a win.

After taking down the Spurs in that conference finals, Durant punched his ticket to the NBA Finals for the first time in his career. The last team in that young Thunder team's way was the star-studded Miami Heat.

In the end, Durant and company came up short against the trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. However, seeing that OKC's trio was so young, many thought it was just the beginning for them. That didn't end up being the case, as James Harden was later traded to the Houston Rockets and KD departed in free agency.
