Former Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem revealed what he had to do during his career as he feared the NBA's drug tests. While a few players have gotten in trouble for it, the league's rules change has allowed others some freedom.

Throughout the regular season, players get randomly drug-tested by the league. Sometimes, it would come after an impressive scoring performance from any player. In 2020, Bradley Beal, who was with the Washington Wizards then, scored 50 points and was drug tested a day later.

Haslem revealed that he didn't smoke weed for five years in the latest episode of "The OGs" podcast he co-hosts with former teammate Mike Miller. This was because of his fear of getting drug-tested and getting in trouble with the NBA.

"I did not smoke when we had the drug test," Haslem said. "I didn't smoke, not during the season. Now, offseason, it was all gas no brakes. I put that s**t down during the season. Now when they changed the rules, now there's a little more leeway."

Udonis Haslem has a message for NBA scouts

Udonis Haslem entered the league as an undrafted forward in 2003. The Heat took a chance on him and he never took the opportunity for granted. Before calling it quits, Haslem won three titles with the team and became a legend for Miami.

After his career was over, his jersey was retired for his loyalty and leadership. He proved the doubters wrong, including the scouts who overlooked him when he was trying to join the league. In "The OGs" podcast, he sent a message to the scouts.

"All you motherf*****s that sit at home and never played and worry about how high somebody jump and how fast they f****ng run, and draft them based off that, that has nothing to do with winning or losing," Haslem said. "I hope you know that now, cause the Joker can't jump over a biscuit.
And I'm 6'6. I lied and said I'm 6'8 but I got three rings. All you motherf*****s that sit at home and the wingspan and all. That's the problem, they don't measure heart. They don't measure how desperate a motherf****r is."

Haslem started talking at the 49:50 mark.
