Toronto Raptors fans strongly reacted after the team’s global ambassador, Drake, interrupted the TSN broadcast during Saturday’s game against the Sacramento Kings to ask for a camera shot of fellow Canadian musician Jessie Reyez. Fans were quick to respond to his remarks, which were made live on TV.
Drake made his request in the final seconds of the third quarter of the tightly contested game featuring former Raptor DeMar DeRozan and the Kings.
“Put the camera on Jessie Reyez,” Drake said. “She looks 20 million out of 10 tonight. Let's get a camera shot of her, forget these clowns. Look at that. Wowzerz. An absolute national treasure right there.”

“Drake has too much power over there,” another added.
Others joked about Drake’s antics, referencing Kendrick Lamar’s diss tracks from earlier this year.
“Drake you ain’t fooling nobody you know she too old for you,” one said.
“Drake shes over 18, she’s not your type,” another added.
Jessie Reyez appeared to take Drake’s comments in stride, sharing a clip of the moment on her Instagram.
Drake opposes a DeMar DeRozan banner in Toronto
Drake and DeMar DeRozan were once close friends during DeRozan’s tenure with the Toronto Raptors. DeRozan played nine seasons with the Raptors.
During the Raptors’ game at Scotiabank Arena on Saturday, which featured Vince Carter’s jersey retirement ceremony, Drake openly opposed the idea of a DeRozan jersey in the rafters.
“If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself," Drake said.
In June, DeRozan surprised fans by appearing at Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out” concert, where he joined Lamar onstage and danced to “Not Like Us,” a track that contains disses aimed at Drake. DeRozan also featured in the song’s music video.
In an interview with Kings reporter Sean Cunningham, DeRozan clarified that despite his performance with Lamar, Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center should still feel free to play Drake’s music, saying he shares strong connections with both artists and considers Kendrick “family,” with both coming from Compton.
"Love Drake. You always can play him,” DeRozan said. “Kendrick has been a friend of mine. It's family. Damn near family. For a long time. for a while. You know. We from the same city [Compton]. Grew up down there in the same neighborhood.”
“It's always been there. It hasn't always been publicized, but that's basically family."
In "Not Like Us," Lamar mentions DeRozan, saying:
“I'm glad DeRoz' came home, y'all didn't deserve him neither.”
DeRozan's Raptors stint ended as he was sent to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Kawhi Leonard. Since then, he has moved on to play for the Chicago Bulls and now the Sacramento Kings.
