As the Warriors continue to slump this season, murmurs around Steph Curry potentially leaving via trade have picked up steam. The two-time MVP has maintained his stance on retiring as a Warrior. However, the NBA is an unpredictable league. Even if Curry wishes to stay, Golden State's plans may change, and it could end the partnership to favor both parties.
While this remains a far-fetched idea momentarily, NBA insider Bobby Marks has given his take on the haul the Warriors may secure if they part ways with the 36-year-old with two more years left on his deal after this season.
"If you put Curry on the open market with multiple years left on his contract, you'll get more than what we traded for Pierce and Garnett," Marks said. "You will get like Mitchell, Gobert, Bridges type of offers, like multiple picks as far as what could be available out there."

Donovan Mitchell, who is on a $163 million contract, was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers from the Utah Jazz in 2022 for a massive haul of a 2025 first-round pick, 2026 pick swap, 2027 first-round pick, 2028 pick swap and 2029 first-round pick, along with prospects like Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen and Ochai Agbaji.
After Marks' prediction surfaced online, several fans shared their takes on what the Warriors and Steph Curry should do moving forward. One fan said:
"If you’re GSW you should trade him and Dray then rebuild"
Another added:
"Warriors need to get some picks and prepare for the Curryless years, this team they’ve built is horrible"
One fan had an opposite take:
"Curry wants to stay, go out sad and be a Warrior for life. It doesn't matter"
Another added:
"he’s not going anywhere! He’s their franchise"
One fan opposed Bobby Marks' prediction, saying:
"No you will not curry is washed"

NBA insider predicts seven-pick haul for Steph Curry and Draymond Green
NBA insider Kevin O'Connor proposed a trade on Tuesday that would send Steph Curry and Draymond Green to the Warriors' long-time rivals, the Houston Rockets. That blockbuster deal's framework included a haul of seven picks that would go the Warriors' way. Four of those would be unprotected first-round picks, and three others would be pick swaps.
Meanwhile, Buddy Hield and Lindy Waters III would also be shipped to Houston, with the Warriors receiving Reed Sheppard, Cam Whitmore. and expiring deals in return. It's a bold trade suggestion that moves the needle for the Rockets. However, one that is unlikely to materialize.
The Warriors won't risk sending their best to their direct conference rivals even if it means them acquiring a never-seen-before haul. Meanwhile, Steph Curry and Draymond Green are unlikely to approve such a trade.
