The USA men's basketball squad doesn't play again until Wednesday. So Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton used this little break to support their fellow Americans. Specifically, both these basketball stars were seen watching the table tennis event.
America's Lily Zhang squared off against Brazil's Bruna Takahashi on Monday, with Edwards and Haliburton in attendance. Zhang, a six-time US national champion, won the matchup four sets to two and advanced to the final 16.

Anthony Edwards earned a much-needed rest after Team USA's game against Serbia on Sunday. In that game, Edwards scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds. He went 4-for-6 from the field, including 2-for-3 from three.
Meanwhile, Tyrese Haliburton did not see any action. Aside from Haliburton, Jayson Tatum remained on the bench in the 110-84 win.
Anthony Edwards is ready to take on Team USA's table tennis team
When they aren't playing their respective sports, the athletes present at the 2024 Paris Olympics get to mingle with each other. During one of these instances, some of Team USA's athletes ended up playfully challenging each other.
Anthony Edwards was interrupted during an interview when his teammate Steph Curry called his attention to the American table tennis team. They said that they could beat Edwards at ping-pong 21-0. Edwards replied by playfully saying that he could score one point against them.
This led to one member of the table tennis team saying that the only way to find out was through a game. This prompted Edwards to say that he was ready to play them whenever.
