Dejounte Murray had an eventful offseason. His chapter with the Atlanta Hawks ended, and his journey with the New Orleans Pelicans is set to begin next season. Before the new season, Murray is spending some quality time with his wife Jania Meshell, their daughter and their two other children from previous relationships in Hawaii.

Meshell shared snaps of herself alongside her family in matching outfit colors on Instagram. They donned a red colorway with Hawaiian native trees etched in the design of the clothing.

Murray's wife also uploaded a snap of everyone by the pool.

The Pelicans guard also shared pictures of their vacation on Instagram. The post also included pictures of Murray working out and practicing his game at the gym.

Dejounte Murray highlighted "generational wealth" in response to comments made about being a non-party goer

Dejounte Murray previously talked about his lack of interest in attending parties and clubs in an interview on the "All The Smoke" podcast on Jan. 19, 2023. He considers it as something from another lifetime and instead is focused on preserving and making the most out of his current situation.

He highlighted the importance of keeping things simple about basketball and his family. SportsCenter reshared those comments on Instagram, to which Murray responded in his Instagram stories.

"They all more than straight forever," Murray wrote. "This s*** set up! Generational wealth."

During the podcast interview, Murray pointed out how important it is to steer clear of any situations or scenarios that could jeopardize what he's worked so hard to achieve.

The 6-foot-5 guard was originally selected 29th overall in 2016 by the San Antonio Spurs, where he played five seasons. He slowly established himself as a reliable two-way athlete who can match up against the best in the league.

In the two seasons he played with the Atlanta Hawks, Dejounte Murray put up 21.5 points (46.2% shooting, including 35.5% from beyond the arc), 6.3 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game.

Now, with the New Orleans Pelicans, Murray is envisioned as an integral piece to their promising core of players such as Zion Williamson, Herbert Jones, Brandon Ingram, Trey Murphy III and CJ McCollum.
