Donovan Mitchell's D.O.N 6 set to release on July 5

Establishing himself as one of the league's most explosive scorers eventually led Donovan Mitchell to release his first signature shoe in 2018 called the 'Determination Over Negativity' or the D.O.N. He has released five sneakers in the D.O.N series. That number is about to grow for the Cleveland Cavaliers star.

The D.O.N 6 is set to be released on July 5 for a retail price of $120 as per BR Kicks. Here is a sneak peek at Mitchell's sixth signature shoe.

Initially, Mitchell's D.O.N 6 will be released in black, blue, green and multi-colored. However, it is normal for athletes to add more colorways to the existing ones later on, so this will likely be the case for the D.O.N 6 later.

Donovan Mitchell is reportedly a trade target for several teams

The 2023-24 NBA Finals have just concluded, with the Boston Celtics winning their first title since 2008 and 18th overall in franchise history. After a few days of celebration, the preparation for the next season will heat up with intriguing roster moves, and Donovan Mitchell's name could be at the forefront of that regard.

Mitchell, who has declined to sign an extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers, is reportedly in the sights of various teams who are looking for a quick and significant upgrade for 2024-25.

One of the first teams to join the rumor mill for Mitchell was the LA Lakers but they'll likely want to address their head coach hunt and the LeBron James question before anything else.

The Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks were also reportedly interested in prying Mitchell away from the Cavs. So it'll be interesting to see if the Cleveland front office is willing to surrender one of the league's most reliable scorers to potential conference rivals.

Of course, there's every possibility that Mitchell remains in a Cavs jersey for the 2024-25 season. After all, he has reportedly said that he is happy in Cleveland and the Cavs front office is not actually looking to move the team's best scorer.

Additionally, he remains under contract for the entirety of the 2024-25 season. If he is truly happy in his current situation, he can pick up a player option to remain with the Cavs for 2025-26 and then worry about thinking about signing an extension by then.

The truth is that Donovan Mitchell is not at risk of walking away unless he forces a trade. In that scenario, the Cavs won't have to let him walk away for nothing as they can opt to decline any deals that they do not deem worthy of the five-time NBA All-Star.
