Dwyane Wade finally got his statue just outside the Miami Heat arena that he deserved for a long time. The Heat unveiled the statue of the NBA legend in the presence of his family and some of his former teammates.

When the statue was unveiled, Wade had hilariously remarked, "who is that guy?" However, after the recent posts made by the three-time NBA champion, it seems like Wade was also present when the statue was being designed.

Wade posted a video and a picture on his Instagram story of the behind the scene of statue being designed. He was seen interacting and joking around with the original creator of the statue.

The statue was created by Omri Amrani, the famous artist who has created other NBA statues of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Amrani said that the "This is my house" moment was chosen by Wade himself.

When Wade was asked about his impression of the statue, he told Miami Herald that he was biased and it was one of the best statues ever created.

“Personally, I’m biased, I think it’s one of the best statues that’s been created because of what it represents for us and for me,” Wade said.

Dwyane Wade is the first player in the Miami Heat history to have their statue installed. He played 15 seasons with the Heat and won three NBA titles and a Finals MVP.

"Disrespecting his legacy": Dwyane Wade statue leaves NBA fans dissatisfied with the sculptor

As big as the moment was for Dwyane Wade to make history with the Miami Heat, NBA fans were not happy with the sculptor. Several fans commented on the social media that the statue did not look anything like D Wade.

Some of the fans even asked the Heat to redo his statue and not disrespect Dwyane Wade's legacy.

"Redo the statue disrespecting his legacy," a fan wrote.
"This is a nice gesture but horrible execution. Dwyane deserves a better statue," the fan wrote.

Some of the fans commented that the statue has no resemblance to Dwyane Wade and doesn't look like him.

"How come it doesnt look nearly like him," one of the fans wrote.
"I don't see the resemblance," another fan wrote.

Some of the fans wrote that the sculptor should be fired after the horrible job. Some said that the person in the statue looked like Mike Tyson.

"Who made the statue? Should get fired. Not even 1% look like Dwade," the fan wrote.
"Literally Mike Tyson," another wrote.
"Why can’t they hire good sculptors? Do we not have a single one that can create statues that look like the person?" Another fan wrote.

Irrespective of what fans say about their impression of the statue, Wade is set in stones.
