In Photos: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sets the fashion bar high with custom jacket announcement

In the past few years, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has established himself not only as one of the top players in the NBA but also as one of the best-dressed. Now, the OKC Thunder star is taking his fashion game to the next step by releasing his own brand of jackets.

On Aug. 19th, he announced his new custom jacket line on Instagram in collaboration with Canada Goose, writing:

"Had to make my own jacket so you can’t just jack it. My 1of1 with @canadagoose."

In the pictures SGA posted, he was seen posing in a camouflage jacket:

Fashion United later reported that Canada Goose has released the first jacket co-designed by SGA. The guard helped the company turn their 'Faber Hoody' into a classic design with a lifted collar. However, the jacket has not yet been released in the US and Canadian markets. According to Fashion United, it will hit the online store next month on Sept. 3rd.

As Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to work on his off-court project, he is also expected to shoulder the burden of the Thunder's success next season.

As great as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is on the hardwood, he doesn't want his image to stay within the boundaries of the basketball court. In a conversation with Dazed in March earlier this year, SGA said:

“I always thought I was fly – and style, being in the NBA, is kind of like my outlet. ... It gives me a platform to show the world who I am, art-wise, and my personality. I can show my ideas beyond basketball.”

SGA also credited Allen Iverson for impacting his views on fashion. He said that the players who came before him allowed and inspired the integration of the NBA and fashion, stirring future generations of players to experiment with their own style.
