The stars came out to watch Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks take on Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals. Doncic and Kyrie Irving put on a show in the first half as the Mavericks are two quarters away from reaching the NBA Finals.
Celebrities like NBA insider Shams Charania, singer and actress Jennifer Hudson, rappers Snoop Dogg, Jimmy Jam and Common, and Timberwolves owner and MLB legend Alex Rodriguez were present at the Target Center. Minnesota is not an ideal market for stars like Los Angeles or New York.
Charania, Hudson and Common are all from Chicago, while Jimmy Jam is a native of Minnesota. He's a good friend of Snoop Dogg, who is from California and is a huge fan of the LA Lakers. Rodriguez is one of the owners of the Timberwolves and is originally from New York City.

Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving balled out in the first half for the Mavericks
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving outscored the Minnesota Timberwolves 44-40 in the first half. Doncic and Irving were absolutely fantastic for the Dallas Mavericks in the first half, taking a 69-40 lead into the third quarter.
Doncic finished with 25 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Irving had 19 points, two rebounds and three assists. It was all business for Doncic and Irving, who looked to create their shots and took control of the contest from the start.
The duo are two quarters away from helping the Mavericks reach the NBA Finals for the third time. They went from missing the playoffs last year to Western Conference champions this year. It's an amazing turnaround fueled by an impressive draft and trade deadline moves by the front office.
Luka Doncic took responsibility for Game 4 loss
The Dallas Mavericks had an opportunity to sweep the Minnesota Timberwolves at home in Game 4, but they fell flat from the get-go despite losing by just five points. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving had horrible performances, but it was the Slovenia superstar who took responsibility for the loss.
“It's fine, I think that game's on me. I just didn't give enough energy. So, we got to do better. They won one game. We just got to focus on the next one," Doncic said after the game. [H/T Sports Illustrated]
Doncic has not been shooting well in the playoffs in the first two rounds but caught fire against the Timberwolves until his Game 4 performance. Nevertheless, the Dallas Mavericks just need one more win to earn a date with the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.
