In Photos: Tristan Thompson wishes brother Amari on birthday, Kris Jenner reacts

Tristan Thompson celebrated his baby brother Amari's 18th birthday on Saturday. Thompson has been the legal guardian of Amari since their mother passed away from a heart attack last year. Kris Jenner, the grandmother of two of Thompson's children, also greeted Amari on his birthday.

In a post on his official Instagram account, the one-time NBA champion delivered a heartfelt message to his youngest brother. He has been taking care of his family since entering the NBA and continues to provide care for Amari, who is suffering from a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

"Happy birthday, Amari! Big number 18! We are so blessed and fortunate for all the blessings that you bring to our lives! You are always a beacon of light! I love you so much and I'm so so blessed to be your older brother," Thompson said.

One of the people who also greeted Amari on his birthday was Kris Jenner. She's the mother of Khloe Kardashian, who has two children with Tristan Thompson, a daughter named True and a son named Tatum.

Jenner wrote the following on Thompson's post:

"Happy Birthday Amari we love you dearly!!!"

Tristan Thompson seems to have a great relationship with Khloe Kardashian's family despite all the things that happened in the past. Thompson has cheated on Khloe multiple times and even fathered two children during their on and off relationship.

Tristan Thompson was inspired by his brother Amari

Tristan Thompson called his brother Amari a source of inspiration during an interview with NBA.com back in 2017. Thompson called Amari's fighting spirit "special" and it keeps him motivated to provide the best care for him and his family.

"What makes (Amari) special, is just his fight, especially a kid his age, being able to go what he goes through. He continues to fight and always be in high spirits. So, for me, as the older brother and kind of the pioneer of the family, I think it's just my job to be able to provide and do whatever it takes – not just for Amari, but for my other brothers just to be happy and comfortable," Thompson said.

Thompson is the oldest among four siblings, with brothers named Dishawn, Daniel and Amari. The family was raised in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, with their mother Andrea taking care of them growing up. Their father Trevor has been absent from the family since 2014.
