Gabrielle Union’s celebrity status has been growing rapidly in recent months, as she also attended shows by Queen Latifah and Janelle Monae in LA in the past weeks.

Gabrielle Union revealed what made her fall in love with Dwayne Wade

In an interview with Today magazine, Gabrielle Union shared how it felt entering a relationship with Dwayne Wade when he was still playing for the Miami Heat.

"When I met Dwyane, his resume looked like crap: athlete, going through a divorce, nine years younger than me," she said. "None of that screamed, 'Let's have a lasting relationship.'"

The two then got to know each other, dated for a while, and built a family of five kids.

“Turned out he’d been on his own since he was 15," Union said. "He had the wisdom that comes with facing an insane amount of adversity. He’s sweet, funny, honest about his shortcomings. When I put my preconceived notions to the side, I found someone cool."

Wade retired as a three-time NBA champion with the Miami Heat, a surefire Hall of Famer, and one of the 75 greatest players named by the NBA.
