Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns is spending more time with his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, this summer. The couple took a trip to the East and visited Kyoto, Japan. Woods posted photos of her trip to the Asian country with Towns.

The Dominican Republic didn't qualify for the men's basketball tournament in the 2024 Paris Olympics, so Towns has more time to spend with his girlfriend. The NBA star and Woods made their relationship public in September 2020 and they've been together for quite some time.

Karl-Anthony Towns' Dominican Republic lost to Croatia in the Olympic qualifiers

The Dominican Republic's men's basketball team was hopeful that Karl-Anthony Towns would lead them to a spot in this year's Olympics. The team participated in the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in Greece. They were in Group B with Egypt and Greece.

The Dominican Republic won against Egypt and lost against Greece in the group stage. In the semifinals, it lost to Croatia.

In the group stage, Towns didn't play against Greece, and the team suffered a blowout loss. Greece, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, secured the spot in the Olympics.

Last year, Towns was in full-participation mode for the national team. He played well in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. However, the team didn't have a deep run in the tournament. After their loss against Puerto Rico, the All-Star big man shared how disappointed he was with his efforts.

"My guys played great. We played as a team. I got to do more. The guys were great, my teammates played great, did everything they needed to do. I got to do a little more," Towns said.

Luckily, there are other chances for KAT and the national team to participate in international competitions in the future.
