Tyrese Haliburton was one of 12 NBA stars selected to represent the United States in men's basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. He saw limited minutes, playing just three of a possible six games, with his veteran teammates getting more gm time.

The two-time NBA All-Star logged in 8.8 minutes and posted a per-game norm 2.7 points. His Olympic stint came following his impressive showing with the U.S. team at the FIBA World Cup in Manila last year.

With the U.S. Olympic team, Haliburton joined LeBron James and Anthony Davis (LA Lakers), Steph Curry (Golden State), Kevin Durant and Devin Booker (Phoenix), Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White (Boston), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota) and Bam Adebayo (Miami) in winning a fifth straight Olympic gold medal.

Tyrese Haliburton reportedly had minor injury during Olympic run

Tyrese Haliburton was reportedly suffering from a minor leg injury, which could have also contributed to him seeing limited minutes at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported on the matter as Team USA wrapped up its campaign at the Paris Olympics with another gold medal. He said:

"Tyrese Haliburton was slowed in the Olympics by a minor leg injury -- Team USA didn't announce it, but he had an MRI, sources said -- and was caught in a numbers game, but he still has future with the program."

Haliburton played the fewest minutes (8.8 minutes) and games (three) among the 12 players in Team USA. His best game was against South Sudan, where he finished with six points, going 2-of-3 from three, and an assist in eight minutes to help the team to a 103-86 victory.

Despite the limited minutes, Haliburton was a steady voice on the bench, giving support to his teammates and egging them on.

Following the Olympics, Haliburton returns to the Indiana Pacers, who reached the Eastern Conference finals against eventual NBA champions Boston Celtics. He finished the season with averages of 20.1 points, 10.9 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 69 games.
