Dating back to the summer, Brandon Ingram has been one of the hottest names in the NBA rumor mill. Ahead of an important summer for him, the former All-Star made a major change off the court.

Ingram is in the midst of his sixth season with the New Orleans Pelicans since being part of the Anthony Davis trade. Despite emerging into an All-Star-level player, the two sides haven't been able to work out an extension.

With free agency around the corner, Brandon Ingram has joined Klutch Sports for new representation. Following this move, fans are predicting that the Pelicans forward is going to end up on the LA Lakers.

"He’s a Laker again," one fan said.

Lakers fans flooded the comment section in excitement of a possible return given Rich Paul's ties to the Lakers.

"LETS GOO HES A LAKERRRR," one fan said.
"Most obvious lakers trade," another fan said.
"Get the lakers swaps ready," said one fan.

As most know, Ingram began his career with the Lakers after being drafted second overall in 2016. He spent his first three years in LA before the front office packaged him in a blockbuster trade to land AD.

Brandon Ingram reportedly shut down trade talks with Western Conference team

Despite being tied up in trade rumors for months, a deal for Brandon Ingram has not surfaced. According to recent developments, the Pelicans forward shut down talks with another Western Conference team.

Reports indicate that the Utah Jazz have been among the teams to have an interest in trading for Ingram. However, he caused a major roadblock because he had no desire to sign with the franchise long-term.

Signing an extension is a crucial part of Brandon Ingram trade talks, as he is set to be a free agent this upcoming offseason. If the former All-Star won't agree to a new deal, no inquiring team will give up valuable assets for a rental.

Five years removed from his lone All-Star appearance, Ingram is still a highly productive player in the league. This season, the 27-year-old is averaging 22.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists.

Just because Ingram is joining Klutch does not mean that a trade or extension is going to surface. One of the other key players in the rumor mill is also represented by Rich Paul. That being Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine, who has been reportedly available via trade since last season.

As a star-level player in the prime of his career, Ingram is at the peak of his earning potential in the NBA. Knowing this, the Pelicans forward has aligned himself with one of the top agents in pro basketball.
