Andrew Wiggins is a doubtful starter for the already short-handed Golden State Warriors when they host the Houston Rockets at the Chase Center on Thursday. The wing has been listed in the team's official injury report as questionable with a right ankle impingement.
Wiggins joins key stars Steph Curry (bilateral knee/injury management) and Draymond Green (calf tightness) with both stars already ruled out of the matchup. Being listed as questionable doesn't necessarily rule him out of the must-win clash, and Golden State will see their two-way play receive a jolt if Wiggins suits up against a stern Rockets unit.
Andrew Wiggins stats vs Houston Rockets
Andrew Wiggins averages 19.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 32 games against Houston. He's had a string of 20 and 30-point outings against the side with his best game being a 31-point performance against the Rockets in 2015.

Then playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Wiggins chalked up 31 points on 9-17 shooting from the field, including 1-2 from the deep, coupled with four rebounds and as many assists. His effort wasn't enough as the Rockets led by James Harden's 33 points and eight assists along with Dwight Howard's 14 points pulled off a 120-110 win at the Toyota Center.
Draymond Green lauds Andrew Wiggins' 'super aggressive' approach this season
Draymond Green, speaking in the Nov. 27 episode of "The Draymond Green Show" had flowers for Andrew Wiggins, praising his mentality this season. He believed that the aggression the wing brought to the fore was instrumental for the Warriors. He told Baron Davis, who is part of the podcast:
“When Wiggs is super aggressive, there's not many people that can stop him."
The F/G has been trending in the right direction for the Bay Area side this season averaging 17.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 2.4 apg in 18 games. He's shooting 45.9% from the field, 41.7% from beyond the arc and 77.6% from the free throw line.
Wiggins continues to be a reliable player on both ends of the floor for Golden State this season. His availability becomes even more crucial in the absence of big stars as the Western Conference side looks to snap their five-game losing skid. Both teams will clash on Dec. 11 again in the quarterfinals of the Emirates NBA Cup.
