The Dallas Mavericks are set to face the Philadelphia 76ers in an interconference showdown on Tuesday. However, Anthony Davis will not make his Mavericks debut just yet as he is officially listed as out on the team’s injury report. The star big man is dealing with an abdominal muscle strain but is expected to suit up later this week.

Davis, a perennial All-Star, recently joined the Mavericks as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers. The 6-foot-10 center arrived in Philadelphia on Monday night and will meet with his new teammates on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Max Christie is expected to make his Mavericks debut as he is listed as available on the injury report. Christie, who was also included in the Doncic trade, arrived in Dallas alongside Davis.

Anthony Davis' farewell message to Lakers

Anthony Davis played a pivotal role in helping the Lakers secure a championship during his tenure with the franchise. Following the unexpected trade that marked the end of his time in Los Angeles, the former New Orleans Pelicans star shared an emotional farewell message.

"6 years ago, I came here with the vision to win a Championship, and I will never forget the moment we did!" Davis wrote. "The business of basketball is a business just like all other businesses… I am grateful to the city where my first ring came from, grew my family and friendships and I will always have a home here."

Davis last took the court for the Lakers on January 28 in a matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, he sustained an injury during the game and was forced to exit after playing just 10 minutes.
