Anthony Davis has had a couple of quiet games since his 39-point effort in the LA Lakers' gut-wrenching loss to the Orlando Magic in November. The center, one of the frontrunners for MVP and DPOY has cooled off after a hot start to the season. His slight dip in numbers coupled with the team's sine-wave run will surely see his stocks take a hit.
That said, Davis continues to be one of the formidable two players this season, and LA will hope he strikes form when they take on the short-handed Utah Jazz at the Delta Center on Sunday in the first of their back-to-back clashes.
The big continues to be listed as probable on the latest available injury report ahead of the game. With a full day's rest between games, Davis is expected to suit up against the Jazz. It remains to be seen if his minutes will be dialed down if the Lakers manage to neutralize Utah by a massive margin as a spicy clash against reigning DPOY Rudy Gobert awaits on Monday. But with reserve big Jaxson Hayes out, there is also that possibility of Davis playing maximum minutes.

JJ Redick praises Anthony Davis' playmaking skills in win vs Spurs
Earlier, Anthony Davis set the tone for the Lakers with his precision passing during the team's win against the San Antonio Spurs last week.
He ended with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and a season-high seven assists as LA notched up a 119-101 win. Speaking of his performance, Redick outlined his passing abilities saying:
"Really with our passing, I thought it started with AD. He had 39 here the last time we played so they were sending bodies to him and we tried to get him the ball early in his spots to score and he was picking them apart. He just was a facilitator. Look, I’ve only coached him 18 games now and the 19 points or whatever he ended up with is not gonna jump off the page, but he was a monster tonight and he does it every night. He does everything that it takes to win every single night."
Now, LA will hope their beast version of Davis shows up when they start their challenging road trip.
