Bronny James will play on Sunday night against the Phoenix Suns when the LA Lakers take to the court for their second preseason game. LeBron James' eldest son was also in action in Friday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, which LA lost 124-107. Both LeBron and Anthony Davis sat out that contest.
Bronny, meanwhile, played 16 minutes, tallying two points, one rebound, one assist and a game-high three blocks. However, he struggled offensively. He shot 1-of-6 and nearly returned scoreless before making an off-hand layup in the final minute.
Nevertheless, his defensive showing was impressive. He caused enough trouble as a point-of-attack defensive presence, making an impact beyond the box scores. There is still significant room for improvement for Bronny, but his feel for the game and composure, especially on defense, stood out.
Coach JJ Redick was also excited about Bronny's defense for someone his size after he got a chase-down block on Nickeil Walker-Alexander minutes into his introduction and two more blocks later.

Bronny James reacts to playing Phoenix Suns next
Bronny James is excited to play against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. The Suns were the only other team the 19-year-old worked out for before the draft. They had the 22nd pick but eventually chose not to select Bronny, who went 55th to the Lakers.
"Just a grateful opportunity," Bronny said (h/t Suns' beat writer Duane Rankin). "I went in there, tried my hardest. Worked my butt off. It's going to be a special full circle moment for me playing the Suns tomorrow."
The game will also be of great significance in NBA history as LeBron James and Bronny James could play together. The father-son duo will create history if they share minutes during Sunday's contest, even though it's for an exhibition game, giving Bronny and LeBron plenty to look forward to ahead of this enticing matchup against Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Co.
