Devin Booker's Phoenix Suns host the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, looking for their second straight win. However, they will again be without the superstar guard, who has been ruled out for the fourth consecutive game due to a left groin strain.

Booker last suited up during Phoenix's 120-111 home loss to the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 19. The four-time All-Star didn't return after halftime, initially getting ruled out due to groin tightness. However, his injury, which cost him the ensuing three outings, was later dubbed a strain.

Suns coach Mike Budenholzer noted on Wednesday that Booker had already begun on-court work, seemingly suggesting his return was on the horizon.

Nevertheless, Booker will remain sidelined for at least one more contest, likely affording Suns wings Ryan Dunn and Royce O'Neale increased opportunities.

How have the Suns fared without Devin Booker this season?

Devin Booker's soon-to-be four-game absence marks his first stint sidelined this season. Entering Friday, Phoenix (15-14) has gone 1-2 in his absence.

The Booker-less Suns fell 133-125 during Saturday's home matchup against the Detroit Pistons. Two days later, they were blown out 117-90 on the road against the Denver Nuggets.

However, Phoenix avenged itself during Wednesday's Christmas Day home showdown against Denver, winning 110-100 to snap its three-game losing streak. The team was led by superstar forward Kevin Durant and star guard Bradley Beal, who combined for 54 points.

The Durant and Beal-led Suns will look to maintain their momentum on Friday against a similarly shorthanded Dallas squad. The Mavericks (19-11) are reportedly set to be without their top player, superstar guard Luka Doncic (left calf strain), for at least one month.
