Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors suffered an ankle injury during a pickup game late last month. Green missed all of the Warriors' five preseason games despite earlier reports that he'll only miss two games. Is the former Defensive Player of the Year playing tonight against the Phoenix Suns?
According to Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News, Green has been ruled out for tonight's season opener. He was just recently cleared to participate in five-on-five scrimmage and only started getting into game shape. He also made the extra effort to take shots after Sunday's practice.
Green is coming off a solid and healthy campaign last season, averaging 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 73 games. He signed a new four-year, $100 million deal with a player option for the 2026-27 NBA season.

The Golden State Warriors are set to welcome Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns at Chase Center in San Francisco, California on Tuesday night. It will be Durant's first game in front of Warriors fans since leaving the team in the summer of 2019 to join the Brooklyn Nets.
Durant's exit was already written on the script earlier that season due to an altercation with Draymond Green on the sidelines. The Warriors swept it under the rag, which led to a disappointing exit by KD.
The two remained cordial with each other and even had a sit-down interview to discuss it. Durant has also moved on from the Nets after the Suns acquired him at last season's trade deadline.
Green won't be available to defend Durant, who is set to receive a video package from the Warriors. He should also anticipate a good ovation from Warriors fans who supported him during his three-year tenure at the Bay Area, which resulted in two NBA championships.

Draymond Green on Steph Curry's quest to defeat Father Time
Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors was in awe of Steph Curry's goal to defeat Father Time. Green told SiriusXM NBA Radio how Curry plans to play further into his 30s and possibly 40s using hard work.
"For him, like you can just watch him," Green said. "He's trying to defeat age. It's evident to me every day. … This dude continues to work harder and harder, like this dude's trying to defeat age. We all know Father Time is undefeated, and guess what he's doing right now? He’s beating those odds right now."
Curry, Green and the rest of the Warriors have a tough task at hand on opening night. The new-look Phoenix Suns have their own version of the "Big 3" and a really good supporting cast plus a new head coach.
