The Milwaukee Bucks followed a tough start to the season with a remarkable winning streak. Doc Rivers' team has won five in a row, including seven of its last eight, even without their best player in their last game.
Despite being listed as probable, Giannis Antetokounmpo sat vs. the Miami Heat on Tuesday with a knee issue. In his absence, Damian Lillard dominated with 37 points on 8 of 13 from beyond the arc.
With the Washington Wizards in town, the Bucks are hoping that Antetokounmpo can take the floor again.
What happened to Giannis Antetokounmpo?
Even though one couldn't tell by his numbers, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been pretty banged up lately, dealing with a minor calf strain and knee swelling. He was able to practice on Friday, so barring a setback, he's fully expected to suit up and return to action vs. the Wizards as the Bucks aim to get their sixth consecutive win.

Giannis Antetokounmpo's season so far
The Bucks got off to a worrisome start to the season, with some analysts and fans questioning whether Doc Rivers would last longer in charge of the team. They fell to 2-8 at one point, and Antetokounmpo urged his teammates to step up.
Despite his team's struggles, the two-time NBA MVP continued to put up his usual numbers. He is averaging 32.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.4 blocks on 60.8% shooting.
Damian Lillard and Khris Middleton have also struggled with injuries, and with Bobby Portis off to a slow start to the season, Antetokounmpo had to do most of the heavy lifting early in the year.
There was some speculation about whether he would request a trade given their start to the year but now riding a five-game winning streak, that no longer seems to be the case.
The Bucks were not the same dominant defensive team they were during their championship-winning season in 2021, and they still can't seem to get over losing Jrue Holiday two seasons ago.
However, Antetokounmpo continues to be one of the most impactful two-way players in the game and his team will always stand a chance to win as long as he's healthy and on the court.
