The Dallas Mavericks have listed Klay Thompson as available when they host the Memphis Grizzlies at the American Airlines Center for an Emirates NBA Cup showdown on Tuesday. Their offseason acquisition has been sidelined for the last few games with a foot injury, however Mavericks star will be playing today on minute restriction.
Thompson was earlier listed as questionable with left foot plantar fasciitis. This came as a massive blow for the Mavericks who needed a win in West Group C to stay alive in the marquee tournament. Their opponents are a stern Grizzlies outfit that's playing some impressive ball to rattle off six straight wins.
Klay Thompson has had a decent start to his Dallas stint averaging 13.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 38.3% from the field and 36.8% from the deep.

How has Klay Thompson fared for the Dallas Mavericks so far?
It's not exactly been a lights-out performance for Klay Thompson, but the 4x NBA champion has looked promising in his stint that may have been better had he not been sidelined due to an injury. Despite his absence, Dallas has recorded wins with Naji Marshall inserted into the lineup. The latter dished out four 20+ points in a row in Thompson's absence.
There have been speculations that Marshall's breezy run could relegate Thompson to the bench. Thompson had six three-pointers en route to his 22 points in an emotionally supercharged contest against his former side, the Golden State Warriors. It's also worth noting that it was his only 20+ point game after the Mavs' season opener against the San Antonio Spurs.
Thompson inked a three-year, $48 million deal with Dallas in the offseason, picking Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving over his hometown team, the LA Lakers. The expectations of Thompson forming a 'Big 3' with the duo have been nothing short of a championship, especially after their NBA Finals run last season.
Klay Thompson and the Mavericks hit the road for a two-game away trip following the clash against the Grizzlies. They return for a four-game homestand and will hope that their veteran forward can suit up at some point in their next six games.
