Second-placed Boston Celtics are flying high in the Eastern Conference with a 13-2 record and take on the LA Clippers as part of their back-to-back schedule. And ahead of the fixture, the Celtics received a decisive boost regarding power forward Kristaps Porzingis.

The Latvian professional has not played for Boston since Game 2 of last season's NBA Finals. However, per ESPN's Shams Charania, Porzingis will likely make his long-awaited season debut for the Boston Celtics in their home game against the Clippers (11-7 Western Conference).

During the Finals game against the Dallas Mavericks, Kristaps Porzingis sustained a torn medial retinaculum and dislocated posterior tibialis tendon. He underwent leg surgery during the off-season and was initially predicted to return to the court in late December or early 2025.

However, with his earlier-than-expected return, whether the 29-year-old would be on minute restrictions is unclear.

The Celtics are on a five-game winning streak since the 108-104 overtime win over the Nets. The hosts are coming off a hard-fought 107-105 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves. This improved their home record for the season to 6-2.

Shooting guard Jaylen Brown was the top performer in the game, scoring 29 points, four assists and two rebounds. Jayson Tatum assisted him with 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

In his debut season, Kristaps Porzingis averaged 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.9 blocks per game. He also shot 51% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc.
