The Dallas Mavericks are set to face the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday, marking Jason Kidd and his squad’s second game in as many nights. Kyrie Irving, who recently returned from a five-game absence due to a back injury, played against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.
Despite the quick turnaround and his recent recovery, Irving expressed confidence in his ability to suit up for the matchup against the Pelicans, signaling his readiness to contribute in back-to-back games.
"Kyrie Irving confirmed his back injury was a “bulging disc.” He says he will “most likely” play in the Dallas Mavericks’ matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night," Sportskeeda's Grant Afseth tweeted.

Kyrie Irving struggled in the Mavericks' 118-99 home loss to the Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets. The one-time NBA champion was overshadowed by his counterpart, Jamal Murray, who delivered an explosive 45-point performance.
Irving, in contrast, couldn’t find his rhythm despite logging 30 minutes on the court and attempting 18 shots. The star point guard finished with 11 points, four rebounds, two assists, four steals and one block. However, his efficiency was lacking, shooting just 4 of 18 from the field, including missing all three of his attempts from beyond the arc.
Jason Kidd's squad has dropped seven of their last 10 games, including back-to-back losses in their most recent outings. The Mavericks will aim to get back on track with a win against the Pelicans and Kyrie Irving will need to significantly elevate his performance compared to his showing against the Nuggets.
