LeBron James' status for Thursday's semifinal against Serbia in the 2024 Paris Olympics Men's Basketball event could have been jeopardized after a brutal injury against Brazil.
During Team USA's 122-87 win in the quarterfinal game, James was inadvertently elbowed by Brazil's Georginho De Paula above his eye midway through the third quarter.
James' injury caused some bleeding and he had to be attended to in the locker room. After the game, Steve Kerr said his veteran star was alright but had to get four stitches after the hit.

There are no reports of James potentially missing Thursday's contest, so barring any last-minute changes, he should take the floor against Serbia. James has been integral to Team USA's unbeaten run in four games at the Olympics and nine, including the Showcase games this summer.

LeBron James and Team USA met Serbia twice before Thursday's semifinal contest this summer. The first game was in Abu Dhabi at the Team USA Showcase event. The Americans emerged winners by a 105-79 margin on July 17. James dropped 11 points and two assists on 5 of 7 shooting.
