Atlanta Hawks v Los Angeles Lakers
Atlanta Hawks vs. Los Angeles Lakers

After a nail-biting win over the Sacramento Kings, LeBron James and the LA Lakers will be back in action Monday. Next up on their schedule is a meeting with reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.

Heading into this matchup, the Nuggets hold the top spot in the Western Conference with a 26-13 record. If the Lakers want to walk away with a win, they will need the services of their best player. Luckily for them, it appears that LeBron James should be good to go come game time.

Per the latest injury report, James has been ruled out against Denver. The 18-time All-Star has been battling ankle soreness, but it hasn't slowed him down.

Over the weekend, LeBron James put on another dominant showing in the Lakers' win over the Kings. He finished the night with 37 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. "King James" has now scored at least 25 points in 13 straight games.

Following their slow start to the year, the Lakers are now one of the hottest teams in the NBA. They are currently riding a five-game win streak and have won six of their last seven games.

Keeping the momentum going will be tough, however, as the Nuggets have won eight of their last ten matchups.

LeBron James is leading the LA Lakers into the playoff hunt

After their rough start to the season, it looked as though the LA Lakers were on their way to missing the playoffs again. However, LeBron James has managed to single-handedly turn things around. Now, there is a slight glimmer of hope for the league's most historic franchise.

Even with Anthony Davis being out, LeBron James is finding a way to lead LA to wins. Over the past month, he has elevated his game and done whatever is needed. Despite turning 38-years-old two weeks ago, LeBron is proving he is still one of the NBA's top talents.

With their recent win streak, the Lakers are knocking on the door of the postseason picture. They are a half-game out of the final spot in the play-in tournament and one game out of the sixth seed.

Many around the league are waiting to see what the Lakers will do before the trade deadline, and this run might have changed things. Seeing that the playoffs are now in sight, they could be more aggressive to get a deal done to upgrade the roster.

If he takes the floor tonight, LeBron and the Lakers will have an opportunity to make a statement against the conference-leading Nuggets.
