LeBron James and the LA Lakers are set to tip off the 2023-24 NBA season with a matchup against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday (Oct. 24). Fortunately for Lakers fans, after being limited in the preseason, James appears good to go, as he is not listed on LA’s injury report.
In addition, both teams project to be close to full strength. The only players listed as out for the Lakers are rookie guard Jalen Hood-Schifino (knee) and forward Jarred Vanderbilt (heel).
As for the Nuggets, rookie wing Julian Strawther (ankle) and big man Jay Huff (ribs) are listed as questionable. Meanwhile, forward Vlatko Cancar (knee) remains out indefinitely.
Tuesday’s matchup will mark a rematch of the 2023 Western Conference finals. Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets swept the Lakers 4-0 in their West finals series en route to their 2023 NBA title. This came after the two teams split their 2022-23 regular-season series 2-2.

How did LeBron James fare in the preseason?
LeBron James only played in three of the LA Lakers’ six preseason games as the team opted to manage his workload entering Year 21. In the three games that he did participate in, James’ minutes were limited as well. However, the soon-to-be 39-year-old still put up solid numbers in limited playing time.
James averaged 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.3 blocks and 1.7 3-pointers on 46.4% shooting in just 18.8 minutes per game.
James continues to defy the odds, as he is coming off a record-breaking 19th All-NBA season. The superstar forward will now have a chance to become the first player ever to make his 20th All-NBA team in 2024.
James averaged 28.9 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 6.8 apg, 0.9 spg, 0.6 bpg and 2.2 3pg on 50.0% shooting over 55 games last season.
