The Chicago Bulls will take a short trip to Wisconsin to face the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday and there's speculation Lonzo Ball could play his first NBA game in over two years. Ball is listed day-to-day but the Bulls have been cautious with his return to the court. The former UCLA star is likely to suit up and could appear on Monday at the Fiserv Forum.

The Chicago Bulls have a 1-1 record in the preseason after a win against the Cleveland Cavaliers and a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Billy Donovan's team has three warmup games remaining prior to their first regular season game on October 23.

Lonzo Ball confirmed he would play in two of the three upcoming games.

"I'm sitting the first two preseason games. Expecting to play the last two. Maybe two of the last three … Everything is going along, feeling good. Knee is feeling good," Ball said on "What an Experience" podcast

On Saturday, Chicago Bulls insider K.C. Johnson reported that Billy Donovan confirmed the plans for Ball to play in two of the remaining three preseason games.

Ball has been out with a knee injury and last played on Jan. 14, 2022. In August, CBS Sports reported that Ball was competing in five-on-five full-contact scrimmages.

Lonzo Ball was one of the top prospects in the 2017 Draft

Coming out of Chino Hills High School in Southern California, Lonzo Ball was one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation. The highly rated point guard committed to UCLA to play under coach Steve Alford in 2016.

Ball may have only played one season in college but left his mark over 36 games with the Bruins. In 2017, Ball broke Jason Kidd's 272 assists record with 274, making second to Ahlon Lewis (294) of Arizona State for most assists by a Pac-12 player. He was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year.

NBA scouts took notice of the gifted shooter and passer and Ball was considered one of the top players in his draft class. The Los Angeles Lakers selected the California native with the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Markelle Fultz was the only player selected ahead of Ball.
