Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has received a status upgrade amid his injury absence. The five-time NBA All-Star is upgraded to doubtful ahead of the team's matchup against the Utah Jazz on Saturday. Doncic has missed the past four games with a right wrist sprain injury. Unless there are last-minute upgrades, he will likely miss his fifth consecutive game.
A doubtful status means a player is unlikely to suit up. However, per the injury protocol, the Mavericks are obligated to provide the apt injury update. The Mavericks have done well in Doncic's absence, and it certainly shouldn't hurt them against the lowly Jazz.
They have gone 4-1 without their best player this season, winning games against top teams like the OKC Thunder, the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks. Kyrie Irving and the rest of the group have handled business as expected, and the Mavericks are expected to win again without Doncic.
