Steph Curry will suit up for the Golden State Warriors as they begin their 2024 NBA Preseason Saturday against the LA Clippers. Curry was not on the injury report, and the Warriors list him as available to play vs Clippers. Curry traveled with the team to Hawaii, further indicating his availability for tonight's game.

He is coming off a spectacular summer, winning his first Olympic gold medal for Team USA. Curry played a heroic role in the semi-final and final, saving the Americans from a disastrous ending to their tournament despite fielding their best possible lineup, featuring LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Curry scored 36 points in the semis as the Americans bounced back from a 17-point deficit to bag a 95-91 win over Serbia and advance to the finals.

The USA nearly lost that, too, if not for Curry's berserk shooting in the clutch. He made four consecutive triples in the fourth quarter to keep the French at bay. These are the kind of special moments the Warriors may need from Steph Curry in the 2024-25 NBA season.

While the team has improved on the edges, they haven't made as many significant upgrades that put them in the conversation as favorites in the West. Nevertheless, with Curry on the team, Golden State can never be ruled out.

Steph Curry is committed to Warriors

Several rumors sparked about Steph Curry as he bonded with Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis during the summer with Team USA. Curry began the Olympics as an extension-eligible candidate with two years left on his current deal. Given the state of the Warriors, who missed the playoffs last year, and their refusal to go all-in on getting win-now players, many felt Curry could request a trade.

However, he flipped that narrative on its head by signing a one-year $62.5 million extension, guaranteeing his stay in the Bay Area through the 2026-27 season.

Curry explained his thought process on media day, suggesting he needed to sign the deal before the season to avoid distractions.

"Honestly, the ability to kind of just let that be known with the decision to extend and not let that be a distraction or be a talking point all year long," Curry said. "No matter what really happens throughout this season, throughout next season, throughout the year after that.
"All my energy is spent on preparing myself to play at a very high level, to do my part as a part of this team to win, and everything else will reveal itself as time goes on. That’s kind of the way I want to approach it."

The Warriors' window to make a run at another title will remain open with Steph Curry. However, they still need to address some issues, including adding a reliable secondary option behind him, who could be a franchise centerpiece once Curry leaves.
