The Indiana Pacers will host the Memphis Grizzlies at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday night. All-Star Tyrese Haliburton will not feature for the home team. The Pacers' talented guard is healthy but will be resting this preseason encounter before the team's regular-season opener against the Detroit Pistons on Oct. 23.
The preseason allows coaches an opportunity to experiment with their lineups and provide some of the team's fringe players the chance to get some valuable minutes on the court. Haliburton was expected to start but is listed out ahead of the game.
After racking up the air miles over the last week, the Pacers will finally return to Indianapolis for their first home preseason game of the year.
Rick Carlisle's team suffered a 131-130 loss in a tightly contested game against the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena on Tuesday. That was followed up by a 129-117 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Ohio.

Tyrese Haliburton featured in both the Pacers preseason games to date. Against the Hawks, the point guard started the game and played 16 minutes. He finished with eight points, four rebounds and two assists.
Against the Cavs, Haliburton once again started and played 18 minutes. Although he scored just seven points, the Wisconsin native was efficient on the night, shooting 3/4 from the field and converting his only 3-point attempt of the night. Haliburton also chipped in with four assists, two steals and a rebound.
The Pacers will return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to take on the Charlotte Hornets in their final preseason game on Thursday.
A strong season from Tyrese Haliburton helped guide the Pacer to the conference finals last season
Tyrese Haliburton was a top prospect coming out of Iowa State, and the Sacramento Kings snapped up the highly-rated guard with the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. A move to Indiana in 2022 saw Haliburton flourish in an offense that allowed him to play a bigger role.
Over three seasons with the Pacers, Haliburton averaged 19.9 points, 10.5 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals over 151 games.
Last season, Haliburton was instrumental in leading the Pacers all the way to the Eastern Conference finals, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks along the way. It was the first time Indiana had reached the conference finals since 2014.
