Zach LaVine has missed two consecutive games for the Chicago Bulls leading up to Thursday's matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. LaVine is dealing with a right adductor strain. He was questionable for Monday's contest against the Utah Jazz and Wednesday's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. LaVine was ruled out before tip-off on both occasions.

He's ruled out for the game as he was listed questionable earlier today. LaVine was present at the shootaround in Dallas, so there is optimism that he might suit up against Minnesota. He's had four days off since making the injury report for the adductor ailment.

The Bulls have lost three consecutive games and will hope to see their star back in action against his former team. LaVine has been excellent when playing against the Timberwolves, and that could help the Bulls get past Anthony Edwards and Co. at home.

Zach LaVine stats vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Zach LaVine has played 10 games against the Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 27.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists, shooting 50.8%, including 35.8% from 3 and 80.5% from the free throw line.

His best game against the Timberwolves came on Mar. 17, 2023, when he went off for 39 points, four rebounds and five assists, shooting 60.% in a 139-131 win. It was also the last time he played against Minnesota. He holds a 5-5 record against the T'Wolves.

The T'Wolves are 4-3 on the season and 2-1 in their past three outings. Despite a streaky run, they have better momentum than the Bulls, who are on a three-game losing streak.

Chicago's chances continue to rest on LaVine's shoulders, making his availability crucial for this matchup.

Zach LaVine has turned a corner this season

Zach LaVine has made a tremendous comeback this season after playing only 25 games in 2023-24. In six games, LaVine has averaged 22.7 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 2.7 apg, shooting on 50/46/82 splits. The Bulls went 3-3 with him on the floor.

He's had better points production before, but the on-court impact has been a positive step towards LaVine contributing to winning basketball. He's adjusted well and done what's asked of him after reported rifts with coach Billy Donovan last season.

LaVine may not stick around in Chicago too long as the Bulls have reportedly looked for trade opportunities multiple times for their star player. His market value took a dip after an injury-prone year, but if he can continue playing at the level he has in his first six games, he may have multiple suitors lining up.
