Angel Reese has been one of the most controversial athletes over the past few days. Since leading the LSU Tigers to the national championship, the 6-foot-3 forward has consistently made headlines.
Her recent comments about the White House have only fanned the flames. Reese criticized First Lady Jill Biden for inviting the Iowa Hawkeyes, the losing team, to the White House.
Historically, only the champions have been invited for a meeting with the US president. However, Jill Biden took it upon herself to invite the losing team as well.
“I just know if the roles were reversed, they wouldn’t be the same," Reese said. "If we were to lose, we would not be getting invited to the White House.”
"I remember she [Jill Biden] made a comment about both teams should be invited because of sportsmanship. I'm like, 'Are you saying that because of what I did [taunted Caitlin Clark]?'" the talented player added. "Stuff like that, it bothers me."
Reese was referring to the incident where she taunted Caitlin Clark after the game.

Although Biden later backtracked and did not mention the Iowa Hawkeyes anymore, Reese believes that she did it only because she didn't receive any support for her original invitation.
The Tigers forward also claimed that she would reject the invitation and go visit Barack and Michelle Obama, who resided in the White House from 2009 to 2017.
"You can't go back on certain things that you say," Reese added. "They [Iowa] can have that spotlight, we'll go to the Obamas."

Reese even revealed that Jill Biden wanted to visit the LSU Tigers in their locker room before the national championship game. However, the team didn't want to see the First Lady since she didn't put them on her bracket to win the national championship in the first place.
