The basketball community was abuzz on Tuesday after a video surfaced on social media showing Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant practicing alongside rookie Zach Edey. In the clip, Morant and Edey were spotted working out in the gym together, honing their chemistry by running a few pick-and-roll drills.
Upon watching the video, a few fans claimed the league is not ready for the duo.
"It’s over for the league," a fan wrote.

"This is gonna be a scary season for the West: the return of Ja and now he has a monster in Edey... fucking SCARY," commented another fan.
One of the fans highlighted how Morant could become even more dangerous and potent with a solid center, who has the ability to screen.
"Y’all dont realize how much elite screening helps Ja’s game. It was missing in 22-23 when Adams got hurt and they paid the price with a first round exit."
Another fan imagined how plays might unfold with Morant and Edey on the court together for the Grizzlies.
"That alley oop between those 2 gonna be legendary Edey posting up getting doubled then ja cuts fr an alley oop."
Another fan shed light on the defensive prowess of Memphis with Edey in the ranks.
"Completely forgot they had Edey. That Memphis team is gonna be tough with smart Jaren and edey on defense. Surrounding ja with an elite defense could definitely work."
One of the X users predicted Morant to dominate in the upcoming season
"I’m glad the league is sleeping on Ja the bear been hibernating its awake now and ready to eat."
Morant and Edey both returning from injuries
Ja Morant played only nine games in the 2023-24 NBA season. He missed the first 25 games due to a suspension and sat out Memphis' final 48 games after undergoing surgery for a torn labrum.
Zach Edey was drafted with the No.9 overall pick by the Grizzlies earlier in the year. The former Purdue star represented the franchise in two NBA Summer League games before getting sidelined with ankle sprains. The 7-foot-4 center twisted his ankle during the game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Edey made headlines with a spectacular performance in his first Summer League game against Utah Jazz in the Salt Lake City. With 0.2 seconds left in the game, the 22-year-old had a tip-in which sent the game into overtime. The Grizzlies center scored 14 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and recorded four block shots in the game.
In the second game against the Pelicans, Edey was going strong before suffering an ankle injury.
