Ja Morant watched Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens lose 27-25 to the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round on Sunday. The loss dropped Jackson’s playoff record to 3-5 and 1-3 in divisional championships. Baltimore’s failed two-point conversion late in the game allowed the Bills to snap a three-year losing streak in divisional-round games.
After the game, Morant posted on X, formerly Twitter:
“8 still MVP tho”

Ja Morant is likely right. Jackson, the reigning MVP, was recently named by The Associated Press, which votes for the NFL MVP, the All-Pro quarterback this season. The Ravens superstar likely wins the recognition for the second straight year. After bagging the award in 2019, Jackson could become the youngest in NFL history to win three MVPs.
Jackson beat Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen for the All-Pro honor, making him the favorite to win the MVP award. The Ravens’ dual threat finished the season with 41 touchdowns and just four interceptions, the best in the NFL. Jackson’s 119.6 passer rating also tops the league. He ended the regular season with 4,172 passing yards and 915 rushing yards.
Ja Morant is certain the numbers piled by Lamar Jackson were enough to give No. 8 the MVP.
Ja Morant and LeBron James campaigned for Lamar Jackson to win the MVP last year
Ja Morant also campaigned for Lamar Jackson to win the MVP award in 2024. Following Baltimore’s 34-10 over the Houston Texans in the divisional round, the Memphis Grizzlies guard declared on X:
“MVP”
LeBron James, the LA Lakers superstar and a big football fan, was just as impressed. He wrote on X:
“Man I LOVE Lamar Jackson!!!!!”
Jackson put on a show in the win against the Texans. He passed for 152 yards with two touchdowns. He also rushed for two more scores in a brilliant second-half display by the Ravens. From a 10-10 halftime score, the Ravens outscored Houston 24-0 behind Jackson’s dual impact.
The Ravens reached the AFC championship after beating the Texans but lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, the eventual Super Bowl winners.
Lamar Jackson wasn’t nearly as impressive on Sunday in the loss to the Bills. He had a fumble and an interception in the first half that caused Baltimore's offense to stutter. Still, Morant thought the quarterback should be a shoo-in for the MVP award.
