Ja Morant drops hilarious Thanksgiving announcement while showing his feast on IG

It appears like Ja Morant won't be cooking for Thanksgiving anytime soon. The Memphis Grizzlies star announced on his social media on Thursday that it was his last time cooking on the holiday while he showcased the food he presumably prepared.

Morant posted a video on his Instagram story that showed his feast spread on the table. The NBA star had apparently worked hard for a long time and perhaps Morant had enough of it.

"this my last time cooking for Thanksgiving."

Ja Morant has had a tough season so far, which has continued from last year. During the 2023-24 campaign, Morant played only nine games. He made a comeback after a 25-game suspension but went out with a season-ending shoulder injury. This season, he is again dealing with injuries but is hoping to make a comeback soon.

The Grizzlies have played 19 games this season and are the fourth-seed in the West with a 12-7 record. They will face the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, Nov. 29.

This is the second consecutive season that Ja Morant has struggled with injury. He has played only nine of the total 19 games of the Grizzlies this season due to injuries related to his pelvis and right hip.

After missing eight consecutive games since he went out with an injury against the Lakers on November 6, he tried to make a comeback against the Portland Trail Blazers on November 25. However, he again exited the game with 22 points and 11 assists in just 23 minutes on the floor.

Morant missed the next game against the Detroit Pistons, but it seems like the Grizzlies star is ready to be back on the floor once again.

On Thursday, Ja Morant posted a picture of himself playing in a Grizzlies jersey and wrote a cryptic message for his followers.

"12:12. Back to it tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving everyone 💙," Morant captioned the post.

Morant's status for the game against the Pelicans has also changed. He has been upgraded to "probable" on the team's injury report against the Pelicans.

This season, the Grizzlies have cut Morant's minutes on the floor, taking precautions due to his injury. He is averaging the lowest minutes (27.3) in his career, although his numbers have remained impressive. Morant is averaging 20.8 points and a career-high 9.3 assists per game.
