Ja Morant's baby mama KK Dixon drops one-word reaction to Derrick Rose's wife's tribute to retired legend

Derrick Rose, after reportedly asking the Memphis Grizzlies to free him of his contract, was waived by the team on Sunday. Three days later, the former MVP announced his retirement from pro basketball. D-Rose played 16 seasons in the NBA before calling it a career.

Rose’s wife, Alaina Anderson followed up the former Chicago Bulls star’s announcement with an Instagram post. Along with a heartfelt message, Anderson shared a photo of the Rose family.

KK Dixon, Ja Morant’s baby mama, had a one-word reaction and shared the same picture in one of her Instagram stories, writing:

“Ganggg [heart emoji].”

The Memphis Grizzlies signed Rose to a two-year contract in 2023 partly because they wanted to offset Morant’s absence. Morant had to serve a 25-game suspension, forcing the Grizzlies to look for backcourt reinforcement.

Morant eventually returned, but his season ended after a shoulder injury in January. Rose and Morant spent some time together in training camp but never played together in an NBA game.

Dixon and Morant are no longer in a relationship, but she appreciates what the former Minnesota Timberwolves guard brought to the Grizzlies. Following Rose’s retirement, she couldn’t help but react to Alaina Anderson's heartwarming photo on Instagram.

KK Dixon, McKenzie Caldwell-Pope and others react to Derrick Rose’s wife’s heartfelt message on Instagram

Derrick Rose usually keeps a low profile on social media, but he broke that trend to announce his retirement. Rose paid newspaper pages in six different cities that he played for to thank the fans. He also went on Instagram to announce his decision and engage with fans.

Rose’s wife, Alaina Anderson, wrote a special message for him:

“The 1, NEVER the 2! Everything you do, you do with your family in mind, and we love and appreciate you more than words can say. We are beyond proud of you! You did what so many wouldn’t—you kept going, no matter what. You’ve inspired us all, and we’re incredibly lucky to have witnessed every part of your journey—the highs, the lows, and everything in between.”

Apart from KK Dixon, McKenzie Caldwell-Pope, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s wife, also replied to Anderson’s post with five roses. Carlos Boozer, one of Rose’s former Chicago Bulls teammates, sent heart emojis in appreciation.

Rose was one of the most beloved veterans in the NBA. He didn't have the superstar career he could have had due to brutal injuries, but the reactions to his retirement show how much the basketball community appreciates him.
