Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies took on the New York Knicks on Monday. Heading into the matchup, the Grizzlies had all the momentum as they came from a six-game winning streak. In their previous game against the Utah Jazz, Memphis established their dominance with a 125-103 finish. However, Morant was surprisingly inefficient after posting 11 points and seven assists.

Going up against the Knicks, Morant was off to a slow start in the first quarter. The Grizzlies guard only added two points and three rebounds. He also struggled to find his shot as he made only one out of five attempts. Trying to keep the game within reach for Memphis was Jaren Jackson Jr., who scored nine points.

In the second quarter, Ja Morant picked the pace up a little bit and added six points. He improved his accuracy to 44.4%. Desmond Bane and Brandon Clarke were keeping the Memphis Grizzlies alive before the first half ended. They're the only Grizzlies players who were in double figures by the end of the first half.

In the third quarter, Morant struggled again as he only made one out of three shot attempts. Jackson Jr. had a third-quarter resurgence adding nine points to his total score. Santi Aldama then came alive to provide support. However, the Knicks were too much to handle for the Grizzlies as they trailed by 18 points by the end of the third period.

Ultimately, the New York Knicks established a dominant 143-106 lead for a blowout victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. Ja Morant never recovered from his shooting slump, while Jaren Jackson Jr.’s 21 points weren’t enough to match up to the Knicks’ wrath.

Grizzlies vs Knicks recap: Ja Morant’s disappointing performance resulted in a humiliating Memphis loss

The Memphis Grizzlies took on the New York Knicks on Monday night. The Knicks snapped the Grizzlies’ six-game win streak as they came up with a commanding 143-106 win. New York is now on a four-game win streak, slowly catching up to the defending champions, Boston Celtics, in the Eastern Conference’s standings.

It was a disappointing performance by Ja Morant as he struggled to contribute to the Grizzlies. Morant only had 10 points, five rebounds and two assists. He also shot a lackluster 38.5% accuracy from the field.

Trying to keep the game alive for the Grizzlies was Jaren Jackson Jr. The star big man also struggled a bit in contributing to the team, but did all that he could to try to beat the Knicks. Jackson Jr. added 21 points, four rebounds and two blocks.

New York’s trio of Mikal Bridges, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson was too much for Memphis to handle. Bridges led the team with his all-around performance, adding 28 points, six assists, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks. KAT, on the other hand, had a double-double performance with 24 points and 11 rebounds. As for Brunson, he put up 20 points, six assists and two steals.
