"Jalen Green is not his stepdad" - NBA fans weigh in on Draya Michele's appearance with 22-year-old son at Rockets game

NBA fans reacted to Jalen Green's girlfriend, Draya Michele, and her 22-year-old son watching the Houston Rockets take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at Toyota Center. Michele arrived for the game in a black dress and was accompanied by her son Kniko, who is the same age as Green.

An account on X with the username "Kollege Kidd" made a post on the social media handle with an unusual caption.

"Draya Michele (39) took her son Kniko (22) to see his stepdad Jalen Green (22) courtside at his game 🏀," the tweet said.

NBA fans quickly jumped in and reacted to the post.

"lol Jalen Green is not his stepdad," a fan wrote.

Alluding to the same age as her boyfriend and her son, a fan wondered if Kniko addresses Green as "pops" or "bro."

"I wonder if that’s pops or the bro lmao," a fan posted.

For some of the fans, the idea of having a son of the same age as the boyfriend was "sickening" and "awkward."

"This is actually pretty sickening," another fan wrote.

"Extremely awkward, athletes need to stop messing around with these 304’s," a fan said.

One of the fans wrote that being called a stepdad at 22 is crazy.

"'22 & step dad' in the same sentence is crazy," another X user uttered.

One of the fans said that "@KollegeKid" didn't have to call Green a stepfather.

"You didn't need to call him a step father like that 😆," one fan wrote.

However, a fan wrote that just because Michele was dating Green doesn't automatically make him Kniko's stepdad.

"Dating someone with a kid doesn’t make you their stepmom or stepdad unless that’s the role you’re choosing to play and responsibility you’re choosing to take on," another fan explained.

Interestingly, Kniko is reportedly older than Green. According to People, Kniko is 23 years old.

Jalen Green played like an absolute all-star in the last few weeks of the 2023-24 season. However, he hasn't been able to carry the same form into the 2024-25 season, but his girlfriend, Draya Michele, is still hopeful for his selection and is doing everything in her power to help her boyfriend achieve his dream.

Michele has been asking her fans and followers to vote for the Rockets star. Michele reposted an Instagram post by the Houston Rockets on her Instagram story and asked her 9.4 million followers to vote for Green.

Jalen Green's numbers are similar to his production last season. It remains to be seen if the guard will be selected as an all-star. He has played 34 games this season, averaging 19.6 points per game on 41.0% shooting (31.9% from the 3-point line). His rebounds and assists have also declined compared to the last season. He is averaging 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.0 steals per game.
