James Harden drops cheeky response to Clippers interviewer’s confusion over 'CBFW' chain after Heat game

James Harden and the LA Clippers defeated the Miami Heat on Monday, Jan. 13. In the absence of Kawhi Leonard, Harden has had to bring out his scoring game this season, and he did exactly that on Monday, scoring 26 points along with 11 assists.

After the game, when the LA Clippers beat writer Joey Linn asked the three-time NBA scoring champion what it felt like to get back in the scoring zone. The Clippers star said it was "unexplainable" with a big chuckle.

After a few seconds, with a big smile on his face, Harden pointed toward his diamond necklace with an abbreviated pendant that read "CBFW."

"You can figure out what that means," the Clippers star added, leaving it on the reporter.

Just over an hour after Linn posted a video of the interaction on X on Tuesday, Harden reposted with a cheeky response.

"somebody tell Joey Linn what “CBFW” means, thank you!" he wrote.

Harden was instrumental in the Clippers' comeback in the third quarter after trailing by five points by the end of the second quarter. He scored 13 of his 26 points in the same quarter, taking the game away from the visitors. Norman Powell led the Clippers with 29 points.

NBA fans hilariously expand 'CBFW' abbreviation in James Harden's chain

After the whole "CBFW" incident, the NBA fanbase came up with their own version of the abbreviation to troll the Clippers star.

James Harden has been out of shape on multiple occasions in his career, especially during the offseason. Some of the NBA fans found the perfect opportunity to throw shade at him and came up with food names to expand the abbreviation.

"Stands for “Craving Burgers, Fries, and Wings,"" one fan wrote.

"Cake, Barbecue, Fries and Wings?" another fan wrote.

One fan called Harden the GOAT while expanding the abbreviation to its true meaning.

"You already know the mfn GOAT James Harden CANT BE FCKD WITH, N***A!! 💪🏽💪🏽💀💯," a fan wrote.

Harden has never won a title in his career and a fan used the abbreviation to shade him for not winning a title.

"Can't be finals winner," the fan wrote.

"Another 1st round choke job incoming … this n***a stink," the fan wrote.

While taking a shot at his body shape, a fan also praised Harden and called him cold-blooded and tuff.

"Cold blooded f****s wizard is tuff ngl," the fan wrote.

One of the fans hilariously wrote that the chain was a gift to Harden by Shaquille O'Neal and "CBFW" had something to do with Charles Barkley.

"Gift from Shaq reading "Charles Barkley, Fat Whale,"" the fan wrote.

James Harden is averaging the most points in his last four seasons. However, the 2018 league MVP isn't looking even close to the offensive star he once was in his career. Harden is averaging 21.5 points on a career-low 39.3% shooting from the field. He is also averaging 7.9 assists, his lowest since 2019-20.
