Jared McCain Stats Tonight: Sixers rookie drops career-high in Joel Embiid and Paul George's absence vs Cavaliers (Nov. 13)

Jared McCain had himself a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday in stars Paul George, Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid's absence. McCain was the No. 1 option for the Philadelphia 76ers, who were playing on the second night of a back-to-back against the 12-0 Cavaliers.

Jared McCain had 34 points on 12-of-26 shooting and 6-of-13 from 3, with two rebounds, 10 assists and two steals. He went 4 of 4 from the free throw line. McCain committed three turnovers and was a +/- -11 in 38:08.

However, it wasn't enough to get the 76ers over the hump in a difficult game against the unbeaten Cavs. The Sixers had a few leads at various junctures but couldn't hold on despite McCain's best efforts.

Kelly Oubre Jr.'s 20 and Caleb Martin's 18 points were the only valuable contributions the Sixers received apart from McCain's. The Cavaliers were collectively much better behind Donovan Mitchell's 23 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists, Darius Garland's 25 points, Evan Mobley's 14 and Jarrett Allen's 11 points.

Nevertheless, the Sixers have found a gem in the draft. McCain seems ready to contribute, and Nick Nurse must find a way to give him decent minutes when the stars are back.

McCain had 16 points in the first half alone. He scored efficiently on all three levels. He got into a rhythm early on after hitting back-to-back 3-pointers out of pick-and-rolls. He got to his spots when the big switched on, getting the separation needed from midrange.

McCain's movement was also one of the most impressive parts of his career-high against the Cavaliers. He relocated to the open spaces to get a solid shot quality while ensuring he got to the rim when needed. McCain also had five assists. He shot 4-of-7 from 3-point range.

By the end of the third quarter, McCain added another six points, taking his tally to 23 points while adding more assists. He started the fourth with eight points on 4-of-5 shots midway through the final quarter.

Jared McCain added two more points and three assists, but his efforts to hand the Sixers a surprise win over the Cavaliers ultimately failed.
