This week, NBA big man Steven Adams and famous Hollywood actor Jason Momoa linked up at a rugby game for the New Zealand national team. In a video posted by Momoa on his Instagram story, the Aquaman and Game of Thrones star was seen alongside Adams during the All Blacks' 42-10 win over Argentina.
Adams was born in New Zealand and has a massive farm where he spends most of his time when not competing in the NBA. Momoa, although born in the US state of Hawai'i, maintains residency in New Zealand, and has long called it his favorite place on Earth.
This week, both Adams and Momoa were in attendance at the All Blacks game, with the moment captured on camera. At one point, when Adams entered the frame, Momoa joked that the pair are twins. However, fans were quick to point out that despite Momoa being listed at 6-foot-7, Adams towers over him.
Although NBA.com height measurements have been somewhat inaccurate in the past, with players such as Kevin Durant suspected of being taller than their listed height, Adams is listed at 6-11 (2.11 meters) on the league's site.

The NBA community was quick to weigh in on the video:
"Jason Mamoa is a big dude and he looks like he could fit in Steven Adams pocket. NBA players are dissimilar," one wrote
"Steve Adams and Jason Momoa look so much alike; they’re like twins separated at birth lol," another joked
Others joked about the similarities between the two, and their size:
"Stevo looks like the youngest brother," one wrote.
"Really crazy when you see players around regular people. You don't realize how guys even like Steph are really tall," another added.
Others also had jokes about the linkup:
"oh my God Aquaman and Aquamane," one wrote.
"aquaman & aquamane," another joked.
Looking at Steven Adams' status heading into the 2024-25 season after knee surgery
While Steven Adams was recently seen enjoying himself with Jason Momoa, NBA fans have been eagerly awaiting Adams' return to the court. Midway through the 2022-23 NBA season, while playing with the Memphis Grizzlies, Adams suffered a PCL sprain in early January.
Initially, the belief was that the injury wouldn't keep the big man sidelined for more than a few weeks, however, in March 2023, after beginning to ramp up, it was announced that Adams had received a stem cell injection in his knee.
Several more weeks went by with no update, until Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said Adams was quote-unquote "likely" out for the playoffs. The playoffs came and went, as well as the offseason, with Adams working through his rehab routine in hopes of being ready to go for the 2023-24 season.
After then playing in a preseason game in mid-October, it was announced later that Adams would have season-ending surgery to repair the injury. In February, with Adams out for the remainder of the 2023-24 season, the Grizzlies traded him to the Houston Rockets.
Now, with the 2024-25 NBA season rapidly approaching, it sounds as though the veteran big man will hopefully be good to go after taking off the entirety of last season.
