Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla provided updates regarding Jaylen Brown's injury status ahead of their game against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday. Since facing the Charlotte Hornets on November 1, Brown has dealt with a left hip strain, which forced him to miss the team's last three games. He also won't play against the Nets.

Despite everyone's concern regarding Brown, coach Mazzulla ensured that his star forward is doing fine and there shouldn't be anything to be worried about.

"He's doing good. Just day to day, it's working out and getting better. Just getting a little bit better each day. So he's getting there."

While there isn't an exact timeframe on when Jaylen Brown is going to make his return to the Celtics lineup, coach Mazzulla said he isn't worried about his injury.

Mazzulla previously stated on 98.5's The Sports Hub before Boston's game against the Golden State Warriors that both he and Brown aren't concerned at all and will likely return to action soon.

Looking at how Boston has performed without Jaylen Brown

It has been a week since Jaylen Brown last suited up for the Boston Celtics. After their game against the Charlotte Hornets last Friday, the Celtics' star forward missed a few games due to a left hip strain. With Brown out of the lineup, some are concerned about how Boston would perform without him.

Looking at their last three games, the Celtics went 2-1. Boston beat the Charlotte Hornets in their back-to-back game against them. Then they went on to destroy the Atlanta Hawks with an impressive 123-93 outcome. However, Boston found themselves in a pickle when Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors came to town and beat them by only six points.

Given their performances so far, the Celtics shouldn't be too concerned about not having Jaylen Brown as they prepare to face the Brooklyn Nets. Thankfully, Jayson Tatum has remained locked in for Boston. In the three games Brown sat out, Tatum averaged 29.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.0 steals.

Derrick White and Payton Pritchard have also stepped up to help support Tatum in Brown's absence. In the three games without the forward, White has averaged 21.6 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.6 spg, and 1.0 bpg. As for Pritchard, he averaged 18.6 ppg, 3.0 rpg, and 3.0 apg.
