"Jesus! Like boxing out there" - NBA fans react after Myles Turner and Jaylen Brown involved in push and shove battle

Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers had no love lost throughout the series, and it was on full display after Jaylen Brown and Myles Turner were involved in a shoving battle late in the third quarter of Game 4 of the Western Conference finals.

Despite its lopsided nature, as the Celtics swept the Pacers after a 105-102 win in Game 4, the shoving match added color to both teams' on-court display.

The incident started after Turner committed an offensive foul while trying to post up Boston’s Derrick White, who elbowed in the process. Brown then entered the frame and pushed Turner, who retaliated with a shove.

Fans reacted with varying levels of opinion and exaggeration.

“Jesus! Like boxing out there 🥊🥊,” one X user wrote in a reply to the video of the scene.
“Bro didn’t even shove him that hard for him to go out of the frame and never return,” one X user also said.
“Tech the person who started it not both of em 😭” one fan wrote.

Both players were slapped with technical fouls for the altercation. The Celtics then got back the ball possession. As to what happened to Derrick White, he seemed to have been lost in the crowd during the fray.

“Somebody check on Derrick White 😭” another fan said.

Meanwhile, some other fans rued the referees' calls.

"Back to back offensive fouls then a technical smh dude is a bot," one fan said.
"Turner should have gotten tossed for that one. I don't blame Jaylen at all," one fan chimed in.

The Pacers led in the final four minutes of the game before the Celtics tied the game on Brown’s jumper and eventually snagged the lead after White’s three-point basket.

Following key stops from the Celtics, the Pacers had one last chance to salvage the win after Jayson Tatum missed a three. Jrue Holiday got the rebound and preserved the possession until the final buzzer.

Jaylen Brown wins Eastern Conference finals MVP

Jaylen Brown had an impressive Eastern Conference finals series after averaging 29.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists to win the Eastern Conference Finals MVP.

In the series-closing win, Brown finished with a game-high 29 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Brown secured five of the nine votes, while his teammate Jayson Tatum got the other four.

Brown was instrumental in the Celtics’ breakthrough Game 1 victory where he made a tough corner three to send the game to overtime. In Game 2, he had 40 points, tying his playoff career-high.

Brown and the Celtics will be entering their second NBA finals after losing in 2022 to the Golden State Warriors. They now await the winner of the Western Conference finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves, wherein the Mavericks are one win away from the NBA finals berth.
