Amid Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler's ongoing fallout with the franchise, which is expected to see the two sides part ways, the veteran forward is also dealing with a child support battle in court. According to Daily Mail, Butler was billed an additional $10,000 in monthly child support, on top of the $55,000 he normally pays.
According to the outlet, in what's described as "paternity battle papers," the Heat star questions his ex-girlfriend, Kaitlin Nowak, on a number of topics. In addition to wanting to know why he was billed $10,000 for a nanny he believes the kids don't need, Butler's team questioned Nowak's spending habits in the court docs.
Additionally, the docs allege that Butler's ex refuses to get a job, while stating that just because the two dated and have children together, doesn't mean that Nowak can live like a basketball wife.
In late 2023, the two sides reached an agreement on shared custody, which included a stipulation that Jimmy Butler would pay for a nanny temporarily. Now, a year later, Butler is pushing back on the stipulation.

Because of that, what was previously a sealed court case is now unsealed, which is how DailyMail was able to obtain the court docs. In them, Butler's team alleges:
"Mother is unemployed and refuses to seek employment. With one child in preschool and Father exercising equal timesharing with the older children, there is no legitimate reason for Mother to insist both on a nanny and that Father pay for that nanny."
Jimmy Butler hasn't publicly replied to latest reports but took a verbal jab at Pat Riley
Since the reports of Jimmy Butler's child support case surfaced on Friday, the six-time All-Star is yet to publicly comment on the situation. While the Heat forward was the subject of Netflix's "Starting 5" docuseries, he typically keeps his personal life private.
Given that, there's no telling when, or if, he'll speak about the situation. Several hours before the reports of his child support case hit the web, Jimmy Butler posted a video from his Big Face Coffee location in Miami on his Instagram story.
In it, he took a sly jab at Heat president Pat Riley, giving one of his baristas a compliment because "That's what bosses do." As he turned to the camera, he said that good bosses build people up, they don't break them down, before flashing a smile and a thumbs-up.
So far, no further development on Butler's trade request out of Miami has emerged. However, with each passing day, it continues to look more and more like a trade will happen given the growing rift between the two sides.
While Butler's agent has made it clear that he isn't interested in going to Memphis, at least for now, despite mutual interest between Butler and the Suns, a trade to Phoenix seems unlikely.
Although early on there had been some talk among fans that Butler and the Heat would work things out, it's looking increasingly like that won't be the case.
