Jimmy Butler provides glimpse of his music taste ft. Roddy Rich amid suspension and trade buzz

As far as hardcourt action goes, Jimmy Butler hasn't been quite prolific in 2025. After just a couple of games, Butler was handed a seven-game suspension for incendiary remarks about his current stint with the Miami Heat. When it comes to social media, though, Butler still has quite an active presence.

On Sunday — five games into his suspension — the Heat forward took to Instagram to let the world know about some songs that currently populate his playlist:

In a set of IG stories, Butler shared screenshots of three songs: "Lonely Road" by Roddy Ricch feat. Terrace Martin, "Str8 Vybz" by Vybz Kartel, and "PRBLMS" by 6LACK.

Whether Butler intended it or not, the titles of these songs are connected to the fiasco currently unfolding in South Beach. On Jan. 2, after weeks of speculation about the Heat trading Butler away, he told reporters that he needed to reclaim his "joy" playing basketball. Infamously, Butler replied, "Probably not," when asked if it was possible for him to find that joy while competing in a Heat jersey.

There's no way for fans to know what's in the cards for Butler until a transaction or an extension is officially announced.

Insider: Jimmy Butler could be staying in Miami

While there have been many opinions on which team is most likely to land Butler, one NBA insider has brought up the possibility that he'll stay with the Heat, at least in the short term.

On a weekend edition of SiriusXM NBA Radio, ESPN's Bobby Marks had this to say about Butler remaining in Miami:

"There's a strong likelihood that if [Jimmy Butler] is on this roster when we get past February 6, then he picks up that $52 million," Marks said. "I know it's been reported that he's gonna decline that option and become a free agent, but when you have $52 million on the table, you have to have a home to go to.

With a little over three weeks left before the trade deadline, all options are still on the table for Butler and the Miami Heat. The only certainty amidst these unpredictable times is the undivided attention of NBA fans on Butler's next move.
