Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat took on the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night. After dominating the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, the Heat came in hot against the Trail Blazers. Looking at his performance in their previous outing, Butler didn't seem to be his usual self. He added eight points and seven assists in the forward's second game back since getting suspended for seven games.

Up against Portland, Butler seemed a bit more enthusiastic as he dominated the first quarter. "Jimmy Buckets" scored seven points and dished five assists to help his team secure the lead.

In the second quarter, Jimmy Butler checked in towards the half of the period. He couldn't do much as he only added one more assist to his totals. Leading the Miami Heat were Duncan Robinson and Bam Adebayo.

Come the third quarter, Butler was able to pick up the pace a little bit as he added six more points. Robinson also kept up with his pace in the second quarter, adding six points. But it was mainly the Heat rookie, Kel’el Ware, who attempted to keep the game within reach. Ware notched a double-double by the end of the third period.

Ultimately, the Portland Trail Blazers came up with a 116-107 victory over the Miami Heat. Jimmy Butler never checked back in and finished the game with 13 points.

Heat vs. Trail Blazers Recap: Jimmy Butler puts up another lackluster performance

The Miami Heat took on the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night. Miami took a 116-107 loss at the hands of Portland. Despite six players being in double-digits, the Heat failed to defend their home court. Jimmy Butler had another lackluster performance, which could be one of the reasons why Miami failed to secure the win. Butler added 13 points, eight assists and four rebounds.

While these may be solid numbers for some, for someone of Jimmy’s stature, these aren’t the usual figures he puts up. This may have something to do with Butler and the Heat’s issues with each other, however, we can’t say for sure.

Duncan Robinson and the rookie Kel'el Ware were trying to keep the game within reach for the Miami Heat. Robinson was the team’s leading scorer as he put up 22 points. Ware, on the other hand, was Miami’s best player on Tuesday as he put up a huge double-double performance. The Heat rookie added 20 points, 16 rebounds and two blocks.

Unfortunately for the Heat, the Portland Trail Blazers’ duo of Anfernee Simons and Deandre Ayton came out as the better competitors on Tuesday. Simons led the Blazers with 24 points, while Ayton put up a double-double performance with 22 points and 15 rebounds.
